Will We See History Made?

In the beginning, I was 100% a Hillary supporter. I think I got caught up in the whole solidarity, women sticking together thing. Girl Power!! But as the days past, and Hillary talked more, I quickly changed the direction of my support. Does she have good ideas about what to do to help the country? Yes, and anything she thought of that Obama did not will force him to take a look at those issues too. So we would get the best of both's ideas.

What changed my mind about Hillary is feeling like she has ruined things for any other woman who ever wants to run for president I feel like she played into every stereotype about women. Changing our minds every other day, mudslinging, and flat out lying - I'm sorry but saying that you were shot at when you weren't is NOT misspeaking, it is not a simple mistake, IT'S A FLAT OUT LIE!!!

I'm disappointed in how she ran her campaign, and I hope she realizes just what that has done to dissuade America from taking another woman serious who wants to run for president.

I am now supporting Obama and am proud of that. I am very proud that we have come so far as to accept even the possibility of a black president. I think he will bring about many good changes to our country. He cares about the struggles of us normal people too, not just the woes of the rich. He has good, reasonable ideas of what to change and how to do it. These are the things that are important, not the color of someone's skin. I am just so happy that we have learned to see people without using our eyes.

Be Safe for the 4th

We all like watching fireworks displays on the Fourth of July. Some of us enjoy creating our own shows. If you're going to do your own fireworks this year, follow these safety tips to keep your fun evening from turning into a disaster.

• Fireworks and sparklers should be used under the close control of sober adults.

• Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks.

• Read and follow all instructions and warnings.

• Be sure other people are out of range before lighting fireworks.

• Only light fireworks on a smooth, flat surface - never in your hand.

• Keep away from buildings, dry leaves and other flammable materials.

• Never throw a firework or sparkler at a person or into a crowd.

• Do not stand over or near fireworks when lighting them; the sparks, the
  flight path and the timing of the explosion are all unpredictable.

• Have a metal trash can handy to dispose of sparklers.

• Do NOT relight duds. If you have a dud, leave it alone for several minutes, then immerse it in water and throw it away.

Have fun on the 4th, and STAY SAFE!

Smaller Size for the Same Price

Have you noticed that your box of cereal isn't lasting as long as it used to? Running out of things just a few days sooner that you did a few months ago? Wanna know why?

Companies are now putting less in the package while charging the same price. This is a result of the same problems we're all having - rising gas prices. As transportation costs rise, so do the costs of everything else. Companies are paying more money to make and deliver products, and are being left with two choices: raise prices or put less in packages to offset their cost. If gas prices continue to rise, however, they will inevitably have to raise the prices for us.

It's a no win situation for all of us. We can only hope that a solution is found soon before things get worse.

This Guy is Crazy!

Not in his theory of growing technology causing us to change the way we
think and read, that is true. But, I think that not sitting still to
read books for hours has more to do with age and the fact that as we
get older there are so many other things that need to be done - things
that are more important than reading a novel. For example, everyday
chores - cooking, cleaning, etc. and spending time with loved ones. True,
I don't read books anywhere near the way I used to. 10 yrs ago, if I
liked the plot, I could read a book in a day - depending on length.
Now, it's been months since I've sat down to read anything more than a
2-4 page magazine article and even, then the book was left unfinished.
My attention span has shortened dramatically as I've gotten older. Not
because of technology, but because of life and a flat out lack of
desire to sit and read a book all the way through.



The reason I think this guy is crazy is because of this : If he gets
bored reading books or lengthy articles and he knows the rest
of us feel the same way, then why didn't he write a shorter article?!

I never noticed this before

When you go to the grocery store to buy bread, do you ever squeeze the loaves to find the softest, freshest bread? Of course, we all do. But did you know that bread is delivered to stores fresh 5 days a week - Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri., & Sat.? Even better is that each day has it's own color coded twist tie.

They are:

Monday=Blue
Tuesday=Green
Thursday=Red
Friday=White
Saturday=Yellow

So just pick the color tie for that day and you'll have the freshest bread. This works with those plastic clips too. The color code is easy to remember because they go in alphabetical order. Remember this tip on your next shopping trip and enjoy your fresh bread.

6.	"There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."

Get 'Em Off the Street!

A new bill was signed into law regarding child molesters who are repeat offenders. Effective July 1st, child molesters (over the age of 18) will receive a life sentence in prison if convicted more than once of molesting a child under the age of 12. More children will stay safe because of this new law. Good job and much thanks to those who signed it! Details of law HB 85 found here.

Movies for the kiddies this summer!

1. Kung Fu Panda- In theaters now. Po, a clumsy yet enthusiastic fan of kung fu is chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy. He realizes his dream when he studies the art alongside his idols. A great one by Dreamworks. Watch the trailer.

2. Wall-E - Starts June,27. Set in the year 2700, Wall-E goes out to chase his dream across the galaxy. Sure to be yet another great animated comedy from Pixar. Watch the trailer.

3. Space Chimps - Starts July,18. A computer animated comedy following the descendants of the first chimps in space as they blast off for a dangerous mission on a far away planet. They're off to make the universe a safer place for all. These little monkeys are just too cute! Watch the trailer here.
